ASHES TO ASHES
2024
Strength is born from the friction of collapse.
This was my very first collection of candleholders. From the beginning, I knew I wanted to create something radical and elegant, something that would speak directly to the instability of our time. I built this series around two forces that seem to define the early twenty first century: imbalance and resilience.
The work explores tension, collapse, the precarious dance between holding on and letting go. I chose burned oak for its raw, wounded texture and solid bronze for its enduring gravity. Together, they embody the constant friction between destruction and survival, between fragility and power. The Aesthetics of Crisis is not just about form. It is about the feeling of standing upright in a world that constantly tilts beneath your feet.
