Sweet thing

2019

I carve what I once dreamt.

Sweet Thing marked the beginning of a new chapter for my studio, a moment that reshaped the way I create and the way I think about my work. With this collection, I stepped into a different territory, revealing a more intimate side of my creative process. It felt like opening a door I had only glimpsed before.

The name Sweet Thing carries a double reference. It speaks to the haunting song by David Bowie, but also to the evocative worlds crafted by John Carpenter. Two universes that have left a profound mark on my imagination. Each piece is meticulously sculpted by hand in the studio, then cast in bronze at a French foundry, before being carefully finished and polished back in the workshop.

The texture I developed for this series is the result of a special process, something almost alchemical, inspired by the science fiction films that shaped my childhood. It carries a sense of otherworldly beauty, where organic forms meet futuristic visions and create a language that feels both familiar and strange. Sweet Thing is more than a collection. A place where past dreams and future memories collide.
