What Remains of Us Floor lamp I

€0.00

What Remains of Us Floor Lamp gives historical ornamentation an unexpected architectural presence. Fragments inherited from the workshop of Venetian artist and restorer Fabio Da Tos are incorporated into a contemporary bronze sculpture, where intricate decorative reliefs contrast with the clean geometry of its vertical lighting elements. The composition deliberately preserves the differences between these forms, allowing each fragment to retain its character within a new structure.

Developed in collaboration with Papier à Êtres, the lighting elements use Kozo paper fibres applied by hand directly onto glass tubes. This delicate layer transforms the LED illumination into a soft, diffused glow, revealing the irregular texture of the paper while partially concealing the technology beneath. The contrast between the precise light source, translucent fibres and solid bronze gives the floor lamp a distinctive material presence.

Each piece is individually sculpted in wax before being cast in bronze by a specialised French foundry. The surface can be finished in a selection of patinas, ranging from deep black to pale, mineral tones with polished bronze highlights. Subtle differences in the sculpted details and finishes remain visible, reflecting the handmade process and ensuring that each floor lamp has its own character.
