TRANSHUMANCES

Barjac, France

In September, I took part in Transhumances, a collective exhibition organised by Galerie Philia in the Cévennes, in the south of France.

The project began with an unusual residency at the Mas de Sauvan, in Issirac, where eight artists and designers gathered to live and work together. Extended to two months by the pandemic, the experience became an unexpected opportunity to explore new ways of creating, far from our usual studios and routines.

Surrounded by nature, we worked with materials found directly in the landscape: stone, wood, flowers and beeswax. Each artist developed their own approach, allowing the environment and collective experience to influence the work.

The resulting pieces were presented at the château, forming an exhibition somewhere between sculpture, collectible design and experimentation.

Transhumances was a rare moment of creative freedom, shaped by nature, collaboration and the unexpected circumstances that brought us together.
