THE FLOUR MILL: UPPER VILLA
Shanghai, China
In collaboration with Chris Shao Studio
Inside the walls of China’s first electrically powered flour mill, now transformed into a private residence of rare poetic luxury, several of my pieces have found their place, not as mere objects, but as fragments of presence, quietly vibrating within the space.
This project, masterfully conceived by Chris Shao Studio, is a living gallery. A place where light, texture, and history converge to celebrate the art of living.
The architecture opens onto the Suzhou River, whose shifting reflections seem to breathe through the interiors. Within this luminous composition, several custom chandeliers and bronze wall sconces from my studio bring a raw, sculptural tension to the space, organic and deliberate, both grounded and elevated.
Each piece was selected and integrated with great sensitivity, echoing the emotional rhythm of the interiors. The result is a dialogue between East and West, between stillness and expression, between tradition and contemporary resonance.
